Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day Weekend was spent with my family. Good food, long laughs and plenty of sunshine!

I have had the most glorious weekend and we will start with
Friday...

Friday, my little sister turned 10 years old. We had her birthday party at the local skating ring. It was adorable seeing all of her little friends from school and the way they interact. Like little women.

I still remember the day she was born. My moms water broke. I remember stepping in it on the way out the door and thinking it was the most disgusting thing. She was a C-section baby so we waiting (my brother and I) in the waiting room until she was born. Her dad and a nurse wheeled her past us and we got to see her before she went up to the nursery.

Now, shes a sassy little girl with so much brilliance. Too much brilliance. I can see our relationship getting closer and closer as she gets older and shes the greatest aunty. She's loves and cares for her nephews without  a grumble. (And I ask for a lot) I love you little sister! Welcome to the double digits!

Jasiah turns 3!

Jump N Jungle has got to be the best indoor place for kids the I have come across in Vegas. So, naturally, that is where we had Jasiah's third birthday. All of his little cousins and friends came and basically played and ate for 2 whole hours. Even the adults had fun going up and down the slides. We can't wait to go back!

So like, there's a baby in there!

I went to my first REAL appointment today. I met my doctor and got one of those little yellow cards and everything (the one's they fill out at every appointment). I got a pap smear (boo) and, to my surprise, I got to see the baby in an ultrasound! Heart is beating and strong. The baby even jumped while getting it's picture taken. If nothing else confirms it, this definitly does. I'm REALLY going to be having a little squishy baby!

Next appointment is August 15 and the gender appointment is already scheduled for Sept 10th.

10 Weeks

How far along: 10 weeks today

How big is baby: The size of a kumquat (Whatever that is..)

Total weight gain: Two weeks ago it was 4 lbs and I haven’t been on a scale since.

Maternity clothes: I’ve been wearing loser shirts and no jeans (dresses or stretchy pants/jeans) for comfort.

Sleep: I sleep well and I want to do it more often.

Best moment of the week: Non baby related would be getting my car and going swimming with Jasiah and Brent.

Food cravings: None this week. I’m eating more sweets and over all eating more.

Food aversions: Yesterday, I could not eat my corn on the cob.

Symptoms: Feeling awesome this week!

Movement: None

Gender: Don’t know

What I’m looking forward to: Being seen by a doctor on the 18th. I’m almost certain he won’t do
an ultrasound but I’d love it if he did the Doppler (heart beat machine). I’ll request it if he doesn’t.

What I miss: Nothing.

Next appt: July 18th

Potty Training

I was in his room, putting toys away when I hear him charging up the stairs yelling "I have to go pee"! I meet him in the bathroom and his independent side kicks right on in. He grabs the seat, locks it on to the toilet, pushes his potty (now being used as a stool) over to the toilet and climbs up. I sat back watching, thinking I know my child and I just KNEW this way would be a huge success. He asked to flush a few times and I explained to him that he can only flush after he goes pee or poop in the toilet. He sat for a while danging his feet, not saying much. A few minutes later he was done (having not done a thing) and did his routine in reverse. He climbed down, pushed his potty chair against the wall and took the potty seat off of the toilet. I instructed him to grab his undies so I could put them on him and that's when I realized. He didn't pee on the toilet because he had already done so. Before he did the independent routine, before, I'm sure, he even came charging up the stairs.
Its okay. I love that he loves this way of training and we'll go through a billion undies (well, he's only got 3 pairs) until we get it right!
